Opalite is glass with a milky iridescent color. When opalite glass is placed against a dark background, it appears to have a blue color. When placed against a light background, it is milky white with an orange or pink glow.

These earrings feature faceted opalite teardrop shaped beads. They are about 18 mm long. I strung them on a sterling silver head-pin wit a tiny sterling bead at the bottom. They swing below my custom sterling ear wires. The entire earrings, from the top curve of the ear wires are 4 cm or about 1 and 1/2 inches long. All silver has been oxidized and brushed for a rustic counterpoint to the milky shine of the opalites.
