Lapis Token Earrings in Antique Mother of Pearl, Lapis and Sterling
Hand carved tokens were first imported to Europe around the same time China began trading silk, porcelain and tea with the East India Company. These chips were hand carved in China, and probably used at card tables in Victorian or Edwardian England.
These earrings are fashioned from a token cut in two. They are set in sterling and fine silver and hang below round, rose cut, dark blue lapis lazuli. The earrings are about 2.5 inches long from the top of the hand made sterling silver ear wires.
